Wow! I’ve been (and still am) swamped with stuff to do and not all of it is work-related even! First off, let’s start with what I’ve been wanting to do followed by what I’ve actually been up to that’s preventing me from doing them. Maybe it’ll give me a better grasp of where the time went. Or at the very least justify my apparent lack of activity hereabouts.

To do:

1. Upload my website with some more pages (e.g. Drawings & Stills, 3D Animation, Sequential Art) and artwork.
2. Work on “Carrier” comic some more. Or upload what I’ve already done on it. Or any other sketches for that matter.
3. Work on more 3d animation exercises (for the course I’m teaching) and a personal character animation project (for a course I’m taking). Both with the ultimate aim of sprucing up my portfolio. My animation updates have come to a standstill!
4. Assist my brother more in setting up his exciting new business. I so want to be a major part of this cool project!
5. Take leave from work during this 2-week school break and actually relax! And get some proper sleep while I’m at it!

What’s been eating up my time:

1. Helping my mom and siblings pack up their (and what’s left of my) stuff in boxes in preparation for some major renovations on my mom’s house. Lots of chucking and clearing. It’ll probably only be considered as completed as it can be by Wednesday (since that’s when the reno officially starts).
2. Working on a commissioned 3d character animation project. It actually started somewhere end May. It’s fun - no doubt about it - and the motivation behind it is oh so romantic, but it is quite a rush job. Two characters, a flower and a very simple story. I’m doing everything but the music. And it’s due in about 2 weeks. I already had a bit of a headache right at the beginning deciding which software to use for the project. We’ll see if my choice was the right one in the end.
3. Marking 3d animation assignments and tests. Thirty-plus animation clips to go through in all, ideally before next term starts.
4. Miscellaneous errands.

Come to think of it, I did manage to execute point 5 in my “To Do” list. Kinda. I am presently on leave for a whole week, so that I can dedicate even MORE time to the above 4 things that’s already gobbling up my waking hours. Next week it’s back to the office I go, and already I’ve been scheduled in for a company visit and a full 3-day conference. Before I know it, the holiday’s over and a new term has begun. But hey, too busy is better than idling and time-wasting, right? And this is GOOD PRODUCTIVE BUSY
