It took some pushing (pardon the pun) but at 3.13pm on 16th July 2007, my third son Atif Al-Muhsin was born. He definitely took his time getting here - he’s a few days overdue and the doctor had to induce delivery - but in the end I’m happy to report that he came safely, is in good health, is cute as a button and has one of the highest pitched wails I have ever heard! Isn’t he just adorable?!
I also want to take the opportunity to thank all the well-wishers and those who had to work extra hard at the office during my absence. The family is coping fine and we’re doing as well as we can. I’m on paternity leave right now. My wife is scheduled to return home tomorrow afternoon. We’ll have to wait and see what the word is on Atif’s release though. The doctor might need to run a few more tests just to make sure. I for one can’t wait for my wife to get home - taking care of my 2 sons by myself these past couple of days while she’s recuperating in the hospital has been extremely challenging (to put it mildly). I can only assume Adib and Amil have been working harder than usual at giving me a tough time when it’s just me handling them. No way are they this much of a handful when with their mother. Right?
So, expect my life to be extra hectic these next few weeks. Maybe months. And there’s definitely at least another major event happening in my life in the near future to keep my hands full. I’ll keep you updated closer to when it’s going down. I guess it looks like there’s always something…

I’ve been keeping in contact on and off with an ex-colleague of mine who’s a self-proclaimed undercover hippy; a free-spirited songwriter cum DJ cum world traveler. Billy’s living the envious happy-go-lucky life playing gigs all over the place and writing (and selling online) songs. A recent message he sent got me inspired to do a couple more quick pencil sketches for him. See, a few years back he thought a drawing I did of a “Mat Rock” (that’s a typical term for a malay rocker for those not in the know) was pretty cool, and I gave him permission to use it for his website/album promo. Apparently, his fans liked it too and have been asking for more. And as usual, I never got round to doing anything about it. Till now. Actually, I just felt like chilling out after a pretty crummy day and do something totally unrelated to work or 3d for a bit (strangely it seems to be a recurrent theme for me these past few days) so sketching seemed like a good idea. Besides, I haven’t been practicing lately so…Â Hope y’all like it.
Go on then, tell me what you think?

I took a teeny tiny detour from work-related matters to finally upload the stuff I’ve done for “Carrier”. Right now they’re located in individual Pages so it’s not quite as clean and organized as I’d like (you can access the first page from the orange menu bar above, then freely access the rest from the links at the bottom of the website). I’m still trying to figure out how to make ComicPress work with the present set up that I have for my site, so until then, this will just have to do. With regards to this comic project, I did all the artwork while my pal Hafiz came up with the story and script. The images I’ve put up are kinda large in resolution (700×990 pix per page) so I apologize for any slow load times. They are compressed jpegs though. I just felt that if I shrunk them any smaller the text won’t be readable. Hey, at least it’s something, right?
Anyway, I hope you check it out and drop me a line to tell me if it’s a pretty weak attempt or if we’ve got something good going here…
Catcha laters peeps!
