I don't do countdowns. I don't do new year resolutions. I don't make it a point to celebrate the coming year - call me indifferent. I like the retrospective element of it all though. Where you look back at the highs and lows and (hopefully) learn from mistakes made.

For me, the highest point would be my embarking on a year-long postgraduate course here in the UK in September. The lowest point is obvious - the passing of my beloved father in January. Of course, we should try to be introspective in addition to retrospective all year round really. Anyway, let's hope 2006 brings more joy than sorrow to everyone regardless of race, language or religion eh?
PS: Adib had a messy chocolate cake, a new tshirt, activity books and stationery, a toy police station and garage set (with 1 toy car included with each) for his 3rd birthday on 29/12/05.
